VP, Cyber Risk Engineer
Lee Stauss joined Sompo in December 2023 and is responsible for the Cyber Risk Engineering program, ensuring underwriters have the technical resources and support needed to assess complex cyber risks.
Mr Stauss has experience across cybersecurity, insurance, technology and risk management. Prior to joining Sompo, he was supporting insurance carriers, brokers and InsurTech organizations in integrating cyber risk intelligence into underwriting and loss control operations.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a software engineer supporting the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber platform and later deployed to Afghanistan as an Intelligence Officer supporting counter-improvised explosive device operations. He also held enterprise security leadership roles, co-founded a managed security services provider and served as a cybersecurity consultant.
Mr Stauss holds a Master of Science from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
